Why request a statement

Submitting an application for qualification recognition can be used for continuing studies, looking for a job or for obtaining a reference to a French-language course as part of a naturalisation application. It can also be requested for any other purpose for which it could be useful.

To be the subject of a statement, the foreign qualification must be recognised by the competent authorities of the country in which it was issued and recognise academic and/or professional training.

To obtain a reference to a French-language course as part of a naturalisation application

Since 1 April 2020, the statement of comparability issued by the ENIC-NARIC France centre can, under certain circumstances and depending on the country in which the qualification was obtained, be used as part of a naturalisation application.

For seeking employment

If you want to work in France, it is important to highlight that the statement does not influence your process of looking for a job. However, an employer may ask for it in order to better understand and assess your academic career and level. It is important to note that the statement of comparability is not an authorisation to pursue a regulated profession.

For continuing studies

A statement issued by the ENIC-NARIC France centre may be useful for plans to continue studying.
