Developing interschool exchanges through Fil plurilingue!

Since September 2022, Le fil plurilingue has offered a new service for bilingual French-language schools around the world with the option to partner with a French school in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes district in order to develop interschool exchanges.


As part of its work, and in particular during projects on site, the Fil plurilingue team and the France Éducation international experts in the Department of French as a Foreign Language are regularly called on to help establish schools partnerships to promote activities in a French-language setting. The teaching teams are often looking for simple measures to create tailored partnership projects and develop teaching practices that are recommended in bilingual teaching methods (project-based learning, interdisciplinary projects, etc.). In addition, the development of school partnerships is a criterion taken into account to obtain the LabelFrancÉducation certification.

This measure is, of course, not in competition with those that already exist and have shown their value, such as eTwinning. It offers all participants the simplest and most flexible option possible, which is open to all countries, and provides a complementary response to the expectations, needs and specificities of the bilingual community. The partnership projects may take different forms, including virtual exchanges or mobility, short-term or long-term durations, correspondence or matching, etc.

Signing up is easy: from the welcome page of the website, click on the “Echanges interclasses” logo and complete the form, which helps us to understand your institute and your project. The Fil plurilingue team then sends this request to its partners at the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes school district via its regional academic delegation for international European relations and cooperation (DRAREIC). The DRAREIC will identify and support academic institutes in the relevant region with a suitable project and will contact you.
